Mevlüt ŞİMŞEK, who trained himself about tantuni in Mersin between 1987-1998 and came to Istanbul from Mersin in 1998, decided to introduce Mersin Tantuni to Istanbul in a wooden hut on the corner of a gas station on Cemal Ulusoy Street Basın Ekspres road. He managed to turn this journey, which he started with 4 tables and 16 stools in a 15 square meter hut, into a restaurant with a capacity of 200 people, continuing in the same location for a quarter of a century. Mevlüt Şimşek’s determination earned him the title of “The Master Who Introduced Tantuni to Istanbul”. Nowadays, this brand has become an institution that continues its activities with the same quality and taste as the first day, to its customers coming from all over Turkey…
